When I talk with candidates in the upcoming elections, I hear one focus that comes up over and over again – jobs. And job training is a big part of that focus. When we have successful training programs, it’s easier for outside businesses to set up shop in our community.
The best example of that career-technical training is TCAT – the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. To find out more on that training and how it affects our local economy, I talked with Laura Monks, the President at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Shelbyville. We look at how TCAT works and why those programs are vital to our community.
