Community Garden with Jason Terhune

We’ve talked about the city vision teams before but on this episode, I wanted to look at one specific proposed project – the community gardens.

Our community has 5,700 people, roughly 17% of our population, living below the federal poverty line. With fresh produce simply more expensive at the store, these families often skip buying fresh fruits and vegetables. Instead, they pick cheaper prepackaged meals and products to make their paycheck go farther. This directly impacts their health and has ripple effects in other areas of our community.

That’s where Jason and the community garden team come in. We talk about why our town needs a community garden and how you can get involved.
