Comment Policy

“Deliberation and debate is the way you stir the soul of our democracy.”

– Jesse Jackson

We absolutely love comments here on the site! The comment section gives everyone a place for a thoughtful, open, and civilized debate.

To encourage that debate, there’s a few guidelines in place.

Use your real name – Anonymous comments are removed.

Add Value – A comment which does not add to the conversation, runs off on an inappropriate tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited, moved, or deleted. All SPAM comments will be deleted because they do not add value to the site.

No Personal Attacks / Offensive Remarks Permitted – In the interest of a civil discourse, no personal attacks or offensive remarks are permitted in our comments. Comments containing obscenities, threats, hate speech, material that’s ethnically or racially offensive, abusive remarks, and spam will be removed.

All Rights Reserved – Our staff reserves the right to edit, delete, move, or mark as spam any and all comments. We also have the right to block access to any one or group from commenting.

Hold Harmless – All comments within the site are the responsibility of the commenter, not our staff. By submitting a comment on our blog, you agree that the comment content is your own, and you agree to hold the Fayetteville Weekly and all representatives of the Fayetteville Weekly harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.

In short, be thoughtful and be kind.

Like most things in life, this policy is a work in progress. Drop us an email here with any questions or suggestions on how to make it better.
