FREE Christmas Event- The Fayetteville ARP church choir and community friends will present “Christmas Oratorio” on Sunday, December 2nd at 7:00 PM.
“Christmas Oratorio” was written by Camille Saint-Saëns in 1858. Saint-Saëns was one of the most productive and famous French composers of the 19th century. “Christmas Oratorio” is an intimate blend of musical styles—narrative recitatives, folk-like melodies, passionate solo passages, and beautiful choral writing.
Written for a full choir, soloists, strings, organ, and harp, it is based on texts from the Old and New Testaments, the Psalms, and the Gospels. Its distinctive chamber music-like instrumentation, with lyrical solos and full choral parts, combine to create a pastoral mood that has led this beautiful work to become one of the most performed works by Saint-Saëns.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Please contact the church office at 931.433.5205 with any questions.
